Graceful, confident, tenacious, creative and fun. Those are just a few truths about Christine Jakupovic, 2019 Community Lifer of the Year.
The past year was one of incredible growth for our company, including expansion into Colorado. Key to our success in the region was Christine, Community Engagement Manager at Inspiration in Aurora. Or as we like to call her, our “game changer.”
For Christine, Community Life is a family affair. Early in 2019, she, her husband, and their two young children left the familiarity of the desert and an extended family network in Arizona to embrace the opportunity to lead engagement at Inspiration, including the community’s 55+ neighborhood, Hilltop.
Experienced in collaborating with 55+ neighbors as Engagement Coordinator for Victory at Verrado and aware of the skepticism among residents about the change in management for Inspiration, Christine expected some uncertainty and even criticism.
True to her character, Christine pressed forward, understanding that it takes time to build authentic community, one resident at a time. So that’s what she did. She built relationship after relationship after relationship with our residents, our partners, and the Aurora and Parker communities at large.
Through all the ups and downs that naturally come with any community management transition, Christine remained positive and professional. As our company deliberately staffed and trained up in Colorado, Christine took the lead at Inspiration stretching beyond engagement to do whatever needed doing – from operations process to board governance and from amenity management to communications.
Christine’s heart and soul pours into her work, and it shows. Without question, she always puts the needs of our residents first, living our values of trust, reciprocity, spirit and legacy. Her purpose-driven passion shines through in a joyful energy and a super big smile.
